Hi all,
Bit of an odd occurance today. After running my SIV for about 30mins when I turned it off the engine ran on for several seconds. This has not happened before. The only thing that I can think of that could have caused this is that I put in a couple of gallons of 95octane unleaded with a shot of lead replacement additive.I know that the ali heads are OK with unleaded but thought a splash of additive wouldn't go amiss.
Any thoughts?
Regards
John

John, it is possible that the fuel + additive was the cause. This "problem" is normally caused by one of a few things and fuel is one of them.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for you input. Curiously enough I've just had the car out for a spin and the problem has gone away,I didn't do anything the old girl fixed herself!
Regards
John

Good morning John
My series V does a very similar thing occasionally. Listening to how it sounds, I've decided that the ignition key/lock seems to have a delay! Sounds weird, but that's the only explanation I can think of. In the past when this has happened on other cars when they ran on, it was usually lumpy sounding tickover for a second or two, on mine it carries on for a second or two as if not turned off, if you can understand that.
