Help please. Does the Flasher Unit on a 1971 Rapier Fastback have to be earthed, The existing Flasher Unit has 2 contacts and fits into a sprung metal holder attached to the lower steering colume cover. The cover seems to be able to be fitted so that the flasher holder earths against the metal bracket on the steering colume that secures the lower cover, however the lower cover can also be fitted without the flasher unti holder earthing against the bracket. which is correct?
