My rebuilt engine (1725cc in a SIV) has now been run for a few hours and I want to check the headbolts/nuts torque.I know it has to be done after the hot engine has been left to go cold.I do not have the crowfoot tool (RG225)and really don't want to have to remove all the valve gear etc.Does anyone have a tool which I could rent for a short time? I'd happily pay postage,a deposit and reasonable hire charge.
John.

Hi John,
As I recall it needs to be done 'hot', but can be done cold too I think, but diff torque settings. Not done any engine work in a while, but I recall I did mine 'hot', but not red hot!
They'll be others with more knowledge than me who will provide a more definitive answer . G.

Well done Peter - the fountain of knowledge on here - probably had a senior moment & was thinking about valve clearances!
Cheers. G.
