It has to be the Weber 28/36 a carburettor quite common in the sixties and used on cars like Ford Cortina and others. This carburettor was a common exchange for the usual Rootes carburettors on both the Alpines and Rapiers. Although the same carburettors were used on Rootes engines the jetting differed for 1500, 1592 and 1725 engines.
For your Rapier with the 1725 cc engine the jetting is as follows:

Choke Primary 25
Choke Secondary 27
Venturi Primary 4.5
Venturi Secondary 4.5
Main jet Primary 135
Main jet Secondary 165
Air jet Primary 220
Air jet Secondary 180
Emulsion tube Primary F30
Emulsion tube Secondary F30
Idle jet Primary 55
Idle jet Seconday 70
Pump jet 70

My Series V Rapier is fitted with a Weber Carburettor (See Photos)
Can someone please identify the model and if possible the correct jets that should be fitted

I would like to fit a plenum chamber to quieten the roar when accelerating hard

As an alternative I am thinking that a Ramflo filter may fit (see last photo)

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated

Regards to all and TIA to those who answer
