Hi all

Incase you didn't know, Gordon Jarvis passed away on 5 May.

Below is a copy of his orbituary and funeral arrangements, which is being held on 31 May.

GORDON JARVIS, 1945- 2018
Rootes Classic Car & Motorsport icon dies aged 72

Gordon Jarvis, the long standing Rootes enthusiast who was a founder Trustee of the Rootes Archive Centre Trust and Treasurer to the Association of Rootes Car Clubs died on 10th May 2018 aged 72.

After starting his career as a Rootes Group apprentice Gordon never lost his loyalty to the brand and spent his entire working career with the Rootes/Chrysler/Talbot and Peugeot brands. However, it was in his spare time that he promoted the Rootes brand and was one of the most well-known faces in both the Classic car and motorsport world as he campaigned his various classic road and rally cars in both the UK and Europe. He will be well remembered for his replica London to Sydney Hunter, and his numerous RAC rally appearances especially in his 1600 Sunbeam Ti.

Gordon was also instrumental in rallying hero Richard Burns entry into motorsport as he built and ran Richard in his first Peugeot 205 GTi, and after Richard’s untimely death was a key part of the Richard Burns Foundation.

His funeral will take place on Thursday 31st May at 12.00 in Dorchester Abbey in Dorchester on Thames, Oxfordshire where his family and friends can celebrate his life. Classic and Rally cars will be welcomed to the service.
